A third tanker was hit in the Strait of Hormuz in the past 24 hours, ⁠United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations ‌agency (UKMTO) reported on Tuesday evening (July 7, 2026). The tanker was struck by an unknown Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and has sustained minor structural damage. No casualties or environmental impact reported, the maritime agency said. A few hours ago, UKMTO said another ‌tanker, second one of the day, was struck by ⁠an unidentified projectile while ‌transiting the ‌Strait ‌of ⁠Hormuz. This came hours after the first such attack overnight. Qatar then said one of its vessels had been struck by Iran.
